BREAKING: Tragedy as body of missing man found following police search in Marple

The body of missing man Christopher Barlow has tragically been found. Police and specialist water search teams remained at the scene in Marple, beside the Peak Forest Canal, throughout Tuesday (June 6).

The 31-year-old had initially been reported missing after he was last seen in the early hours of Sunday (June 4) walking along Brabyns Brow, at around 1.23am.

Greater Manchester Police have now confirmed that a body was recovered and that it has been confirmed as being Christopher. His family have been informed and a report is being prepared for the Coroner’s Office. READ MORE: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community On Monday night (June 5) the water search and marine unit, as well as a number of police vehicles and detectives were pictured at the scene.

The following day, a large section of the canal was closed off to boats as the search continued. Canal towpaths were also taped off as divers went into the water and officers searched nearby woodland.
