The body of missing man Christopher Barlow has tragically been found. Police and specialist water search teams remained at the scene in Marple, beside the Peak Forest Canal, throughout Tuesday (June 6).
The 31-year-old had initially been reported missing after he was last seen in the early hours of Sunday (June 4) walking along Brabyns Brow, at around 1.23am.
Greater Manchester Police have now confirmed that a body was recovered and that it has been confirmed as being Christopher. His family have been informed and a report is being prepared for the Coroner’s Office. The following day, a large section of the canal was closed off to boats as the search continued. Canal towpaths were also taped off as divers went into the water and officers searched nearby woodland.
