Manchester United's preparations for Saturday night's Premier League fixture against Newcastle have suffered a blow after their flight to the north-east was cancelled.
The MEN understands that the United squad were due to board a flight at Manchester Airport at 11am, only to be told it had been cancelled due to the weather and technical difficulties.
They will now have to take a three-hour coach journey to Tyneside before taking on Newcastle tonight, kick-off 8pm. It looks set to be bitterly cold night for tonight's fixture, with the Met Office forecast predicting a chance of some snow flurries and freezing temperatures.
Erik ten Hag could be without seven players for the match at St James' Park after providing an update at yesterday's press conference, but there is an outside chance Mason Mount (calf) will return.
