There is a major emergency response near to the River Roch in Bury for the second day. Police and fire crews have taped off an area of woodland near to the water this morning (November 19).

It comes after responders and rescue teams were deployed to the area on Saturday night (November 18), to reports of a concern for the welfare of a woman.

Crews from Greater Manchester Police, North West Ambulance Service and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) were called to Newby Close in Bury at around 5.15pm.

The stretch of water includes River Roch, near to Bury Cemetery.
