There is a heavy police presence outside a school in Bolton this morning after a body of a man was found. Several police vehicles are reportedly stationed on Chorley New Road in Horwich, outside the St Joseph's RC High School.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said officers are responding to concerns for a person's welfare. Sadly, GMP later confirmed a man had been found dead.
In a statement, a spokesman said: "Officers were called to Chorley New Road, Horwich, Bolton, at around 7:20am this morning where the body of a man was found. The 'isolated incident' is not linked to the school.
In a message sent to parents, which has been seen by the Manchester Evening News, the school said all students were safe. The message said: "Please note there has been a police incident near school this morning.
