Rangers have reportedly been told Salernitana's asking price to allow Domagoj Bradaric to leave the club with the left-back tipped with a loan switch.
Philippe Clement looks to have been sent back into the market following an injury to Ridvan Yilmaz - which could keep the Turkish international out for up to six weeks and leaves Jefte as the only option on the left side of the Light Blues' defence.
Reports in Italy suggest that Rangers have "shown interest" in taking the 24-year-old on loan from the Serie B side with an option to buy, but Salernitana are said to be pushing for an obligation to purchase should the Croatia international meet performance-based incentives while in Govan.
Croatian outlet Index report that the Italian side want the purchase option to be set at around £4.2million - having paid just over £3.5million to sign him from Lille in 2022.
