The Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants came to a halt on Saturday due to one of the most bizarre reasons of all time.
With Mumbai looking to complete a dramatic run-chase, needing 23 off 12 balls, the automatic sprinklers came out on the field, prompting the officials to stop the match for an unexpected reason.
Though the sprinklers were stopped shortly after, the wet outfield prompted the officials to bring super soppers into play. Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who was leading her team's tricky chase, seemed unperturbed by the sprinklers break as she helped the team reach the target in spectacular fashion.
