'Bizarre' - Gary Neville questions Erik ten Hag tactical decision at Manchester United

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has described Erik ten Hag's decision to deploy Anthony Martial up front in recent weeks as "bizarre".

The Frenchman, despite producing a poor performance against Newcastle United seven days earlier, was recalled to the starting line-up for Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford.

He started in the centre of attack, replacing Rasmus Hojlund, who Ten Hag seemingly wanted to keep as fresh as possible for Tuesday night's visit of Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Again, it was a decision that offered no reward, with United failing to score for the second time in their last three Premier League matches.
