Barry Robson insisted Aberdeen are an "honest club" amid their spat with the SFA over their attempt to appeal Graeme Shinnie's red card.
Pittodrie chiefs released a stinging statement on Tuesday after losing their bid to overturn the skipper’s red card against Ross County, which saw the Aberdeen star hit with an additional game ban for the club's attempt to overturn the decision with the ban deemed 'frivolous" by the Hampden higher-ups.
Robson will now be without his key midfielder for four of the final six games - starting with the clash with Rangers. The Dons' boss has leapt to the defence of Shinnie and the club as he revealed talks remained ongoing between the governing body and Aberdeen chiefs - with the Granite City side initially calling for the appeal to be heard by a new panel.
Robson told Sky Sports: "The type of player he is, he has never had any malice in challenges that he has went for. We are a good, honest club and we always try to do things right. "We went to the SFA with our appeal and they have came back and gave us an extra game, which is really frustrating.
