Barcelona have reportedly asked superagent Jorge Mendes to help them facilitate a transfer for Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo.

The defender is due to return to the Etihad from his loan spell at Bayern Munich this summer with his future remaining unclear.

The 28-year-old was booed by some City fans when he came on as a second-half substitute during Tuesday’s 3-0 Champions League defeat to his parent club.

Amid his January switch to the Bavaria club, reports emerged claiming that the player had had a falling out with Pep Guardiola over game time and so a subsequent loan exit was organised, all of which fuelled the jeering in midweek.
