Manchester United's preparations for Saturday's clash with Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford have been rocked by an injury to star left-back Luke Shaw.
United issued a statement on Thursday evening to confirm that the England international had suffered an unspecified muscular problem.
They have said that he will be sidelined for a 'number of weeks'. Shaw has cemented himself as a key figure within Erik ten Hag's plans over the past 12 months and has started United's opening two Premier League fixtures this season.
He has made considerable progress under the Dutchman's stewardship. United's announcement confirming Shaw's injury arrived just hours after the club confirmed the departure of fellow left-back Brandon Williams, who sealed a move to Championship side Ipswich Town.
