Rangers hero Ally McCoist reckons axed Birmingham City boss John Eustace will land an interview for the Ibrox hot seat. A section of Birmingham fans were left unhappy over the club's treatment of Eustace who leaves the team in sixth place following back-to-back wins with Wayne Rooney expected to replace the former Light Blues midfielder in the St Andrew's dugout.

With Rangers still searching for a successor to Michael Beale with Steven Davis in interim charge of the club, Eustace has emerged as a favourite with the bookmakers.

Kevin Muscat and Philippe Clement appear to be the leading candidates for the hot seat, but McCoist reckons Ibrox chief executive James Bisgrove and the board could look to hold talks with Eustace after his brutal Birmingham sacking as they look to appoint Beale's successor.

He also confessed he was confused that former Chelsea and Everton boss Frank Lampard did not get a look-in with Graeme Souness playing a role in the next boss hunt.
