Allan McGregor says he’ll always regret not winning more medals during his second stint at Ibrox. The 41-year-old returned to Rangers in 2018 looking to add to the three league titles and eight cup wins he’d won first time around.
But the former No.1 now hangs up his gloves having managed to lift just one more Premiership crown and a Scottish Cup in the five years since being brought back by Steven Gerrard.
And the newly-retired Ibrox icon confessed: “I wish there were more, I’m not going to lie. Without wanting to sound negative here, we have won two trophies from a possible 15 in the last five years - 16 if you include the Europa League final - and that is not enough for this club. “At Rangers there always has to be a standard where every game and every trophy is a must-win.
I try to do my best to get that through to people, that you must be consistently winning leagues and winning cups. We need to get back to that as soon as possible.
