Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has received well wishes from teammates across the globe as he begins his recuperation from injury.

Martinez went down in pain during the closing stages of last week's 2-2 draw with Sevilla. Fellow Argentinians Marcos Acuna and Gonzalo Montiel carried him off the pitch afterwards.

Later, Erik ten Hag announced the 25-year-old had fractured his metatarsal and he would be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Taking to Instagram, Martinez wrote: "Not the way I imagined what's been a very special season would end, but sometimes we face obstacles along the way that we have to overcome to make us stronger and we learn from them.
