Major changes are expected in the Pakistan team following a disappoint exit from the T20 World Cup. The Babar Azam-led side was eliminated from the tournament in the group stage after losing to USA and India.

The team continues to attract criticism from the cricket fraternity and fans, with some even suggesting that the board should sack the entire team.

Days after arriving in Pakistan, captain Babar Azam was seen training in Lahore at the training complex of the Gaddafi Stadium.

Amid criticism of the team, a video went viral on social media, where a few Pakistan players were seen doing catching drills.

Shehzad has been in the news recently for his criticism of Pakistan captain Babar Azam. After Pakistan's early exit from the T20 World Cup last month, Shehzad had urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to get rid of senior players, including captain Babar, star pacer Shaheen Afridi and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan. Shehzad also accused Babar of indulging in groupism within the team to protect his teammates cum close friends, also labelling the latter as a "social media" king.

Babar recently appeared in an interview on De Villiers' official YouTube channel and when the former Proteas batter asked him to choose, Babar was quick to pick him over any active cricketer. The BCCI has reportedly also suggested a hybrid model, where India would play their games in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) or Sri Lanka, but no consensus has been reached yet.
Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has lambasted a Pakistan cricket fan and journalist Farid Khan for comparing Pakistan wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan with former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and asking who is better. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Farid Khan, who lists himself as having worked for the Pakistan Cricket Board, Pakistan Super League, Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2024, and T10 Global League, made the comparison of Rizwan with the former India great.
Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam continues to court criticism from former players.
