Photo: ROCKCITYFMAbia, Cross River and Bayelsa states were excellent at the third Offiong Edem youth table tennis tournament, which featured 42 youngsters drawn from six states of the federation.In the competition sponsored by national table tennis star, Offiong Edem, Abia State’s Chinyere Okafor won the U-13 girls category by beating her Cross River State opponent, Esther Ekok, 3-2 sets in the final played at the U.J Esuene Stadium, Calabar.Another Abia State player, David Uche, defeated Daniel Ekok from Cross River 3-2 sets to win the U-14 boys’ category, while Idoreyin Udoka of Cross River State beat Vivian Oku, also from Cross River, by three sets to two to take the U-17 girls’ class title.In the U-17 boys’ category, Mathew John of Bayelsa State defeated Bright Joel of Cross River State 3-2 to become champion.
