All motorists have been issued advice ahead of Storm Agnes sweeping parts of the UK this week. A yellow warning for wind has been issued for most of the UK - including the whole of Greater Manchester - from midday on Wednesday September 27 to 7am on Thursday September 28.
Some inland areas could see gusts of between 50 and 60mph, while exposed coastal areas could see winds of up to 80mph. The winds could be 'significantly disruptive' with a small change of injuries and danger to life and a chance of damage to buildings.

He said: “Many places across the UK are likely to see strong winds this week and it's very likely trees and debris will be littering the roads.
