Cork's Saoirse McCarthy and Laura Hayes have been nominated for the PwC GPA Camogie Senior Player of the Year, with 12 Rebels players in the running for an All-Star.Galway's Aoife Donohue is the other player who could land the player of the year honour.
Donohue is one of 11 Tribeswomen on the longlist for an All-Star.Tipperary, who narrowly missed out on a place in this year's senior final after their one-point defeat in the semi-final to Galway, received seven nods and were closely followed by Dublin, with four players recognised for their fantastic contributions in helping Dublin to their first senior semi-final in seven years.Last year’s All-Ireland finalists Waterford received two nominations after their efforts this year saw them reach an All-Ireland quarter-final.In the intermediate competition, Cork’s Lauren Homan and Emma Flanagan are up for player of the year, along with Kilkenny’s Danielle Morrissey.Clodagh Tynan and Aimee Collier (Laois) are selected for the leading intermediate honour, along with Jenny Grace (Tipperary).A total of 36 players are nominated in total for a senior All-Star.An award ceremony will be held in Dublin on 15 November to confirm all the winners.
