The road to the seventh edition of the Lagos State Women Run has reached its climax with over 25,000 registered participants expected at the 2022 race.According to the convener, Tayo Popoola, this year’s Women Run will not only be remarkable, but it is going to be a memorable one, adding that she is optimistic that the race is going to be a spectacle one for everyone to enjoy due to huge preparation that went into it.“One of the great things in this year’s edition is that women from different professional backgrounds are coming out.“I have seen women who are passionate about their jobs, health and I’m saying let’s come together to celebrate ourselves.“While there have been multiple entries from women in the corporate, fashion, entertainment industries and beyond, many are particularly delighted with the registration of three pilots’ sister for this year’s race.“The famous Makinde siblings, Oluwafunmilayo, Oluwaseun and Mopelola, who took after their father’s profession as pilots, have all registered for the race.Oluwafunmilayo Makinde-Marcus, who spoke at the occasion heralding the event billed for next weekend, said she and her sisters are excited about the Lagos Women Run concept.“We are quite prepared.

It’s just for the love, understanding and encouragement. It’s no competition; it’s just to encourage one another and women around us.“Anything to encourage the women, to let them understand that they can do better and be better, is something that I have always wanted to be part of,” she said.Follow Us
