Adam Devine earns new Rangers deal as James Tavernier's deputy set for Ibrox extension

Rangers are set to reward rising star Adam Devine with a new contract.

The highly-rated 19-year-old has been promoted into the first-team in recent months as back-up for captain James Tavernier. The right-back made his senior debut as a substitute late last season in a Premiership clash with Dundee United and hopes are high for a bright future at Ibrox. Rangers shipped out Polish prospect Mateusz Zukowski, only signed in January 2022, during the summer to pave the way for Devine to join Giovanni van Bronckhorst 's first team.

Record Sport understands the 19-year-old will put pen-to-paper on a deal to keep him at the club for at least another two years, with his agent arriving in Glasgow to finalise terms. Devine's current terms expire in May 2023 and Rangers are keen to secure his future. He has featured twice for the B team in this season's Lowland League but much of his time has been spent in and around the first-team setup, playing 90 minutes in the Premier Sports Cup win over Queen of the South in August.
