Appearing on ITV’s The Chris McCausland Show today, Janette Manrara spoke about her husband and Strictly Come Dancing co-star Aljaz Skorjanec’s biggest hobby.
The BBC presenter, who co-hosts It Takes Two, revealed Aljaz’s penchant for video games - and that he had already introduced their baby daughter Lyra to one of the most famously violent ones.
Kicking the show off by talking about various gripes, presenter Chris McCausland asked the dancer: “Janette, what’s been winding you up?
“Well, through the years, my husband Aljaz has had a… Shall we say, hobby?” she began.
Chris then pointed out that, like Janette, Aljaz also stars on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, before pressing: “What’s his hobby?”
“His hobby is with this machine called a PlayStation,” she continued, as Chris hastily added that “other consoles are available”.
Janette said: “He is obsessed with playing with this machine massive amounts of time that he has in the day.
“But the worst part of that story is that - we’ve got our little girl, Lyra, she’s 13 months now.
“He was watching after her one night, and he was like, ‘Oh my gosh, baby, Lyra loves Call of Duty,’” she added, as the studio erupted into laughter.
Call of Duty is a violent military video game series which primarily sees the player shoot and kill various opponents.
Janette exclaimed: “Call of Duty is a shooter game where they’re shooting at each other and there are blood splatters everywhere!”
Chris then joked: “By the time she’s done learning her ABCs, it’s going to be ‘A’ is for AK-47!”
Janette gave birth to her baby daughter Lyra last July, after previously tying the knot with husband Aljaz back in 2013.
Janette swapped her role as a professional dancer for a presenting gig in 2021, while
