Zlatan Ibrahimovic: AC Milan star shows off incredible physique at 40-years-old

Zlatan Ibrahimovic wasn’t ready to retire at the end of the season.

Despite turning 40 and suffering from a serious knee injury, Zlatan signed a new one year contract at AC Milan.

He scored eight goals in 27 matches for Milan last season to help them claim their first Serie A title since 2011.

At the end of the season, he revealed how he’d been playing without an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) for six months.

“For the past six months I played without an ACL in my left knee. Swollen knee for six months,” he explained.

“I was only able to train with the team 10 times in the last six months.

“Took more than 20 injections in six months. Emptied the knee once a week for six months.

“Painkillers every day for six months. Barely slept for six months because of the pain.”

At the age of 40, nobody would have questioned Zlatan if he decided to hang up his boots with such a serious injury.

But Zlatan is made different.

Instead, he signed a new contract at the San Siro and you just know he’s going to be back playing sooner rather than later.

As he recovers from his knee surgery, you just know the Swede will be working extra hard to ensure he’s back in peak physical condition. And if his latest social media post is anything to go by, that’s exactly what he’s been doing this summer.

That’s because Zlatan uploaded an image of him stripped down to his shorts and he’s in quite incredible shape for someone who turns 41 in a few months’ time.

Zlatan captioned it “Different Breed” and it’s hard to disagree.

Like him or loathe him, you can’t deny Zlatan is an inspiration.

Not only has he got
