Zip World announces popular adventure park to close 'after careful consideration'

A popular adventure park has announced it will 'cease operations' at one of its North Wales sites.

Zip World made the announcement about its Conwy site on Facebook on January 21, saying they had given the issue "careful consideration", Wales Online reported.

The company only opened the Conwy location, on the former Adventure Parc Snowdonia, last March, Wales Online reported.

It featured five adventures, from climbing walls, ninja assault courses, soft play and a high wire course. It was their fourth location in North Wales, adding to their adventure sites in Betws-y-Coed, Blaenau Ffestiniog and Penrhyn Quarry at Bethesda.

In a statement the company said: "After much careful consideration, we have made the decision to cease operations at Zip World Conwy.

"This was not a choice we took lightly, and we want to extend our deepest gratitude to all of our guests and supporters who have made the site such a special indoor adventure destination throughout 2024.

"If you have an existing booking at Zip World Conwy, our team will be in touch with options this week.

"We look forward to welcoming you to our other nearby Zip World locations and continuing to provide unique and exciting experiences for years to come."

Fans of the park were saddened by the news. "So sad," wrote Peter Carter-Wall on Facebook.

"We’ve had three lovely family holidays at this site, staying in the hotel and enjoying the on site activities. Such a lovely bright and modern facility and great base in a beautiful part of the world.

"But for some reason it just didn’t seem to take off and cover its costs and has struggled over a number of years…"
