Zinckernagel starts: How we expect Nottingham Forest to line up against Blackpool on Saturday

Nottingham Forest will face Blackpool at lunchtime on Saturday knowing that a win – and a valuable three points – will put them into the play-off places heading into the 3pm games.

Steve Cooper’s side will most definitely feel that a top six spot is still within reach and that they can still climb into the Premier League come the end of the season.

Forest won’t brush Blackpool aside easily but having gone unbeaten in the league since the end of January, they’ll definitely fancy their chances. They’ve got a talented squad and will need as many points as they can now.

Who then, could get the nod heading into this clash?

The only area of the field that Nottingham Forest might have to worry about for this fixture is in defence.

Joe Worrall and Tobias Figueiredo are both likely to feature at the back, with both shining against QPR in a 3-1 win. However, Scott McKenna looks like he will miss out so Richie Laryea may have to step into the breach at the back. He too is not a certainty for the game though, with the player and Ethan Horvath both having travelled for international duty.

The middle of the field though should stay exactly the same. Djed Spence is continuing to prove he is one of the most exciting talents in the division and bagged a goal against the Hoops – so he should be one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Further forward, Philip Zinckernagel had the most key passes last time out and that showed via an assist too. Playing just behind the two attackers he is thriving and should hold onto his place.

Finally, upfront, the partnership of Brennan Johnson and Keinan Davis is working wonders and that will likely be the duo going forward too as long as both remain match fit.
