Zara McDermott has bid farewell to her boyfriend Sam Thompson as he returns to Australia for another stint in the jungle. The 2023 I'm A Celebrity winner is heading back down under after his victory last year - but this time he's hosting a spin-off show.

It has been announced that I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here is returning in November with its first spin-off show in four years, with Sam Thompson, Joel Dommett and Kemi Rodgers set to present.

The ITV sister show to the main reality series has been rebranded as I'm A Celebrity Unpacked. Sharing his excitement at heading back to the jungle on Good Morning Britain, Sam, 32, said it was "a dream come true" to be back, while Dommett credited the reality series with having started his successful TV career.

With the popular ITV show set to start on Sunday, November 17, Sam has now jetted off to Oz leaving behind his girlfriend and former Strictly Come Dancing 2023 contestant Zara McDermott.

Taking to her Instagram on Saturday morning (November 9), the BBC documentary maker shared a video with her two million followers which showed Sam leaving with his suitcases in tow.

As he headed of down the street, Zara wrote the caption: "he's off to Australia," alongside a crying emoji. She then added: "going to miss you so much," with a pink love heart.

The next picture on her story then showed a gift she had given Sam before he left, which was a black cap with the writing 'cat dad' on it. She wrote: "I bought him this hat for the journey," a nod to the fact the couple share two ragdoll cats.
