Zander Clark set for Dundee United transfer talks as Tam Courts targets pre-contract deal

Dundee United are set to open pre-contract talks with St Johnstone keeper Zander Clark.

Tannadice chiefs have informed Saints they intend to start negotiations with the Scotland squad member, who is out of contract in the summer.

United are looking at their options with No.1 Benjamin Siegrist yet to pen a contract extension as his deal runs out.

An offer remains on the table for Siegrist but the club wants to cover all eventualities.

Clark, who won a cup double with St Johnstone last year, is also attracting interest from England but United are ready to make their pitch.

The 29-year-old held pre-contract talks with Aberdeen when Stephen Glass was in charge but new Pittodrie boss Jim Goodwin is now going down a different route.
