Zak Lovelace sends message to Millwall supporters following Rangers transfer
Zak Lovelace is a player with plenty of potential as he proved last season when he became Millwall’s second youngest debutant.
The now 16-year-old made three further appearances for his side last season and as a result, Gary Rowett was keen to get him on a professional contract at the club.
However, Rangers had their eye on the youngster for some time and yesterday it was confirmed that the player had turned down a contract at The Den to make the move to Scotland.
Millwall have expressed their frustrations over the player’s departures and not only do they lose a good player, but they now receive only compensation which is lower than a fee they would’ve got for him on a professional contract.
Giving his view on the transfer, Lovelace took to Instagram to confirm his move and wrote the caption: “I am happy to finally announce my signing for @rangersfc
“I want to first thank Millwall for all their efforts and time they have put into me. It’s been a very good three seasons from playing U13 to getting my first team debut.
“However I have decided to start a new chapter at Rangers and continue progressing in my development.”
