Zak Crawley's quiet life in Kent before England Test Cricket call-up

A whole host of famous faces have called Kent their home county over the years. Ranging from TV stars to musicians, there are plenty to get excited about.

Another to add to the list is none other than the cricketer Zak Crawley. After several successful seasons playing for Kent, Zak was called up to represent England for the first time in 2019, making him one of Kent's biggest names.

Whilst many of the famous faces such as Davina McCall, Bob Geldof and Paul O'Grady have simply relocated to the area, Zak has been firmly rooted here for much of his life. Born in Bromley, historically part of Kent but now part of Greater London, in February 1998, Zak is the son of Terry and Lisa Crawley. Terry Crawley started out his career as a carpet fitter before having a change of career, becoming a trader in London, where he went on become one of the most well paid men in the UK.

Zak began his schooling life at the New Beacon School, Sevenoaks, - an all-boys preparatory school for children between 4 and 13. Zak is not the only notable former alumni either with prominent World War One poet Siegfried Sassoon, Rugby star Ben Earl, and Kent Cricket teammate Sam Billings also being schooled there.

He later attended Tonbridge School, a boarding school for boys aged between 13 and 18. Some other notable alumni also came from Tonbridge School too with Tom Chaplin and his fellow Keane bandmates meeting at the school.

His cricketing prowess was clear for all to see from a young age. Aged seven he played for the local Sevenoaks U10 cricket side
