Youri Tielemans drops hint over his next move amid interest from Arsenal and Man Utd

Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans insists he is eager to play in the Champions League following reports he is looking to leave the Foxes this summer.

Tielemans will have just a year left on his contract at the end of the season and is yet to reach an agreement over a new deal at the King Power Stadium.

Het Nieuwsblad claimed last month the Belgium international now preparing to leave at the end of the season and is aiming to join a ‘top club with title ambitions’.

Both Manchester United and Arsenal have been strongly linked with the midfielder – with Leicester reportedly ready to accept a bid of £35million at the end of season to avoid the risk of losing him for nothing.

‘I don’t worry about it [speculation]. I want to get the most out of myself this season and finish as high as possible with the team,’ Tielemans said on Friday over his future.

‘Of course, I want to play in the Champions League, just like any footballer.

‘Am I ready for a European top club? I’m ready to get the best out of my career. We’ll see what happens next summer, or the summer after that.’

United have made signing a new midfielder a priority this summer regardless of who succeeds Ralf Rangnick as the new permanent manager this summer.

Arsenal meanwhile held talks with Tielemans’ representatives at the start of the year to gauge whether he would be interested in a move to the Emirates.

As it stands, the Gunners are in a strong position to return to the Champions League next season after a five-year absence, an achievement that should hand them a major boost in the race for Tielemans.

United are currently sat in sixth place, four points adrift of fourth place Arsenal having played a game more.
