Youri Tielemans comment has told Manchester United to seal a bargain transfer
Manchester United showed some interest in Youri Tielemans last summer.
The Belgian had just lifted the FA Cup with Leicester after the Foxes narrowly missed out on a Champions League spot by a point. His 15 goal contributions had also attracted the interests of Arsenal, but in the end the midfielder decided stayed at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester endured a below-par campaign this time around, finishing eighth in the Premier League. Tielemans had a solid start to the season but after suffering a calf injury in November, he scored only twice in the 22 matches between January and April — albeit he scored two against Newcastle on his December league return.

The midfielder showed signs of his former form in the last few weeks of the season and has now admitted that leaving Leicester may be a possibility this summer. Speaking to the press while away with Belgium he said: “That [a move] is not out of the question. But I can also stay. I feel very good at Leicester.
“Of course, you have to listen to other opportunities, you have to look at your career, and sometimes you have to make choices. Maybe one will come my way.”
He later added: “You change because there is a great project on the table. For a player, the most important thing is to play. It’ll be up to me to make the right decision regarding my future this summer, but now, I’m relaxed and focusing on the Red Devils [Belgium].”
Convincing Tielemans that Erik ten Hag is undertaking a said “great project” might not be enough to lure him to Old Trafford. Quite clearly, he wants a guarantee of playing time.
