Manchester United 'pushing' to sign Real Madrid star and more transfer rumours
Manchester United are reportedly 'pushing' to sign Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio in this summer's transfer window.
That is according to a report by Spanish publication Sport, which claims United, along with Chelsea and Italian giants AC Milan, are interested in signing the Spain international. Asensio is out of contract at the Bernabeu next summer and Madrid aren't prepared to offer him a new deal meeting the wage demands he is said to have set.
Madrid want to keep hold of him but his demands are currently considered as being too high. It means that an exit could be on the cards this summer, as the Spanish heavyweights are certain to prefer a cut-price deal as opposed to losing him for nothing in 12 months' time.

Therefore, the report claims that Asensio is 'up for auction', inviting the prospect of bids landing in Madrid's inbox. He is currently valued at around £35.5million.
The attacker, who plays predominantly as a right winger, was a regular fixture in Carlo Ancelotti's plans last season, racking up 42 appearances. He scored 12 goals and grabbed two assists.
Meanwhile, United are ready to enter the race to sign Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt. That is according to a report by Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, as cited by Sport Witness, who claim that United are getting serious with their interest.
It states that United, who are continuing to pursue a deal for fellow Dutchman Frenkie de Jong, are 'ready to forcefully enter the scene' for the 22-year-old. United manager Erik ten Hag knows De Ligt well after working with him at Ajax.
