Munster moved into the Investec Champions Cup quarter-finals after beating Ronan O'Gara’s La Rochelle 25-24 in dramatic fashion at Stade Marcel-Deflandre.

Tries from Craig Casey, Gavin Coombes - after a blockdown - and Andrew Smith had seen Munster establish a 22-10 lead.

As it happened: La Rochelle 24-25 Munster

Munster nerves were tested when La Rochelle were awarded a penalty try 13 minutes from time but Crowley then landed that pivotal drop-goal.

There was still time for La Rochelle to rally and Bosmorin touched down before Antoine Hastoy’s conversion made it a one-point game.

But Munster held out to claim one of their biggest Champions Cup victories and march on to the last eight.
