Shane Lowry kept himself in contention for victory at the Valspar Championship with his third-round 70 keeping him within two shots off the leaders.

The Offaly man is tied for fifth on five under going into Sunday's conclusion in Florida. The trio of Jacob Bridgeman, Nicolas Echavarria and Viktor Hovland share the lead on seven under, with Colombia's Echavarria particularly excelling on Saturday with a five-under 66.

In a quiet round, Lowry managed two birdies, with gains on one and ten, while he had just one bogey on the second.

That leaves him in a five-way tie for fifth including fellow major winner Justin Thomas.

Seamus Power, meanwhile, is tied for 31st after a 70 which keeps the Waterford native at one under.

In an up and down round, he birdied three in a row on five, six and seven but that had followed consecutive bogeys on three and four.

Other dropped shots came on nine and 14 although he did birdie 11 and 13 for a one-under round.
