Lagos Celebrates Teenage Golfer, Oyero
One of the star athletes at the 7th National Youth Games is Delta State 12-year-old Stephanie Ogechukwu, who grabbed four gold medals in three apparatus in gymnastic events for Team Delta.

On Thursday evening, the little girl stormed the VIP area of the Stephen Keshi Stadium alongside her mother, where she dedicated her medals to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

She told the guest inside the VIP that she hopes to win more medals in her remaining three games. But the young Ogechukwu wants the governor to give her a scholarship to aid her education.

“I worked very hard during training and I am happy and thank God that I am dedicating these gold medals to the Governor.”

Ogechukwu, an SSI student, will be celebrating her 13th birthday today. She pleaded with the Delta State government to grant her a scholarship and guide her to the highest level of her career.

“I will be turning 13 years old on Saturday (today), and I want the Delta State government to grant me a scholarship and support my gymnastics career to the highest level.”

Meanwhile, Team Lagos continues to celebrate the youngest golfer to play in the National Youth Games, Funmilayo Beauty Oyero.

The five-year-old Oyero, shocked many lovers of golf when she featured on the Ibori Golf course for up to five hours as she played 18 Holes. She played in the colours of Team Lagos.
