Yerry Mina had to be told to "calm down" during fiery clash with Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus

Yerry Mina was told to "calm down" by Jordan Pickford after a fiery exchange with Arsenal duo Gabriel and Gabriel Jesus during Everton 's 2-0 defeat in Baltimore.

The Gunners ran out comfortable winners at the M&T Bank Stadium in the United States thanks to goals from Jesus and Bukayo Saka, as Mikel Arteta's side grabbed another pre-season victory. This was Everton's first friendly of their tour and up next is a clash with Minnesota United in the early hours of Thursday morning.

They will return to the United Kingdom for two more pre-season games - against Blackpool and Dynamo Kiev - ahead of their Premier League opener at home to Chelsea on August 6. Meanwhile, Arsenal face Orlando City on Thursday before playing Chelsea to end their time in the States. Arteta's side face Crystal Palace in their first match of the season.

While Everton were second best throughout the game, there were plenty of positives to take for Frank Lampard as he prepares his team for the season. However, one thing he may not have been best pleased about was Mina's reaction after he was involved in a scuffle with Gabriel and Jesus.

From the start of the contest, there were a number of late tackles and several skirmishes between both sets of players - which is not often the way in friendlies such as these. Mina became embroiled in squabbles with Jesus then Gabriel, with the second incident occurring as players waited for the corner Arsenal scored their opener from.
