Yasir Al-Rumayyan's 'important moment' and Newcastle United boss says transfer talks to follow
Eddie Howe says that Yasir Al-Rumayyan's appearance in the dressing room after Newcastle United hit the 40 point mark was an important moment in the season.
The Toon supremo watched on from the stands then enjoyed a post-game kick about to mark what is essentially Premier League survival. The chairman of Saudi Aramco's last visit to St James' Park had ended in an FA Cup defeat to Cambridge United.
But this time he got to enjoy the full experience of victory and afterwards Howe said: "That's why I think it's important to actually sometimes look back at those days and think that wasn't that long ago. That Cambridge game was a big disappointment because we were desperate to get a win, any kind of win just to try to build some momentum.
"I have to say, the chairman came in to see me after that game and he was excellent, he really was very, very good and I know he was very good with the players. It's so important in difficult moments that you keep your head and you support each other, and that's a big thank you, really, for supporting us that day that we've been hopefully able to repay that support."
