Xabi Alonso sums up Cristiano Ronaldo's Real Madrid record in one sentence

Xabi Alonso has claimed former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo 'made everything very easy' during their time together at Real Madrid.

Both Alonso and Ronaldo made the switch from the Premier League to Madrid in the same transfer window and spent five years playing alongside each other. They lifted five trophies during their time together in Spain, including the Champions League and La Liga.

Ronaldo spent the prime years of his career at the Bernabeu, making 438 appearances and scoring 450 goals. He was surrounded by a number of world class players during his time in Madrid, including Alonso who has spoken of how the Portugal legend made life on the pitch simple for his team-mates.

Speaking in an interview with Coaches Voice, Bayer Leverkusen manager Alonso said: “Cristiano made everything very easy. I get the ball, I find him and he used to do his individual action to score."

Ronaldo, 38, left United last year after a controversial interview with Piers Morgan in which he criticised several elements on the club. He signed for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia shortly after.
