WWE WrestleMania 38: Pat McAfee became true fan favourite thanks to memorable spots
At WWE WrestleMania 38, Pat McAfee beat Austin Theory, before the NFL star was defeated in an impromptu match by 76-year-old Vince McMahon.
While it was McAfee’s match with the WWE Chairman that really caught the attention of fans, his outing with Theory was memorable in its own right.
In fact, McAfee seriously impressed fans with several memorable spots on the night, including one particularly acrobatic spot, which you can see below.
McAfee backflipped off the top rope, before jumping back up to hit Theory with a suplex, which would have been a brilliant spot for any wrestler, never mind someone who has wrestled just three matches.

As noted, fans were quick to jump onto social media to praise Pat for the spot, with many left seriously impressed by what the 34-year-old had to offer.
As if I didn’t think Pat McAffee was cool enough, this is just pure athletic insanity! https://t.co/igG53SuGZE

It wasn’t just his performance in the ring that caught the attention of fans, but also his sell of the Stunner from Stone Cold Steve Austin.
After drinking a beer in the ring with the WWE Hall of Famer, McAfee was hit with the Stunner, and sold the move brilliantly, spitting beer out of his mouth.
