WWE: Who has won the most World titles?

The argument over who is the greatest wrestler of all time is one that is hard to quantify, but who has won the most World Titles in WWE history is less so.

WWE often get criticised for not mentioning other companies and their wrestler’s history in them, namely Cody Rhodes’ return not having any references to his time in AEW. This lack of acknowledgement extends to this list, where WWE does not recognise TNA World Championships.

This is possibly fair given TNA was and is not a major wrestling promotion, nor are the likes of Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla for example. WWE also does not count NXT Titles as World Titles, which seems reasonable to be fair.

Titles won in New Japan Pro-Wrestling are a bit of a dicier subject, but for this list, they will also be excluded.

So what does that leave us with? The current WWE and Universal Titles. The old-World Heavyweight Championship, WCW World Championship and its NWA predecessor. ECW title reigns under the WWE brand are also recognised.

The Stinger’s 4 TNA World Titles are not recognised but he still had 10 during his time in the NWA and WCW. He surely would have WWE gold had he joined the company prior to 2014.
