WWE legend Kurt Angle admitted he was uncertain who Colby Covington was before handing the UFC star permission to use his iconic entrance music.
The UFC star recently defeated bitter rival Jorge Masvidal to maintain his status as the leading contender in the welterweight division behind champion Kamaru Usman. Covington requested to use Angle's infamous entrance music before his clash with Robbie Lawler which has since continued throughout his glittering career.
However the WWE sensation has admitted that he granted the star his blessing to use the music after researching his UFC record in detail. "Well, he approached me and asked me if he could use it and I said, 'I don't know," Angle told The Schmo. "Because I don't know who you are,' and I did some research on him and found out how damn good he is. I said, 'Yes, you can definitely use my music.' Colby Covington is as good as they get."
Angle's infamous entrance music was most recently used for Covington's clash with Masvidal in Las Vegas, with the crowd proceeding to chant along in a similar fashion to the former wrestler's entrances during his days in the WWE.
