Conor McGregor returns to sparring after UFC 264 leg break last summer

UFC star Conor McGregor is back in sparring for the first time since breaking his leg at UFC 264 last summer.

Ever since that infamous Las Vegas night in July 2021, Conor McGregor has been focused on getting back into the Octagon after sustaining a nasty leg break. The injury came at the hands of rival Dustin Poirier, ending their trilogy on a particularly sour note.

McGregor made it clear from the second he left the cage that he was going to be back and as we look ahead to the rest of the UFC’s 2022 schedule, it certainly feels as if a storm is coming.

The Irishman has plenty of other ventures to concern himself with outside of mixed martial arts and yet, the former two-weight UFC champion is eager to continue making history.

In the latest Instagram update from his recovery, the 33-year-old released some shots of him sparring.

A lot of critics may not like it, but we may see Conor back in the cage sooner rather than later.

It’s not exactly a secret that fighting Conor McGregor is like winning the lottery. Every single fighter on the face of the planet would climb into the Octagon with this man because they know that financially, they could be set for life based on just one payment.

Of course, McGregor is the one holding all of the cards, and right now his focus appears to be on the UFC welterweight championship.

If Conor was able to defeat Kamaru Usman and become a three-weight world champion, he’d be the first fighter in UFC history to reach such a milestone.

It would vault him right back into the GOAT conversation despite all of the setbacks he’s had, and it’d also reaffirm that MMA truly is the craziest sport out there.
