WWE: Karl Anderson's 2020 comments on potential return really haven't aged well

WWE welcomed Karl Anderson back into the company this week as The Good Brothers made their return on Raw.

The former Raw Tag Team Champions reunited The OC as part of the ongoing Raw feud between AJ Styles and Finn Balor.

They’re back in WWE now, but The Good Brothers seemingly didn’t always plan on returning to the company.

Anderson and Luke Gallows were fired by WWE in April 2020 as part of a cost-cutting measure brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

What made the situation worse is that WWE had only signed the pair to long-term contracts for big-money less than a year before, to prevent them from signing with AEW.

When asked about the prospect of coming back to WWE shortly after their release, Anderson said on Twitter that they'd "absolutely f****** not" be returning, which obviously hasn't aged well considering they're not back.

In a tweet that he has since deleted, Anderson said that he and Gallows were "never" returning, telling fans to "document it", as shared by Twitter account @WRESTLECringe.

He joked that they'd only return for a big-money deal, like WWE has seen with Saudi Arabia shows, so something has clearly changed.

Something has clearly changed for Karl and Luke to be back in WWE, and a lot of it likely comes down to the recent regime changes within WWE.

Anderson and Gallows were fired by Vince McMahon, and like many other released stars, now seem more willing to return following his retirement in July.

The likes of Braun Strowman, Johnny Gargano and Bray Wyatt have returned to WWE now that Triple H is running the show, with it being far less likely for them to have come back under Vince.

As noted, the natural fit is now for The Good Brothers to team with AJ Styles to take on The Judgement Day's Finn
