WWE Hell in Cell: Cody Rhodes' gruesome chest as he suffers horror injury

Cody Rhodes shared the ring with Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell tonight, his first-ever singles WWE PPV main event.

To finish his feud with Rollins, WWE had Cody wrestle the former Universal Champion inside Hell in a Cell.

Things didn’t go to plan for Cody the week of the match, as WWE announced hours before the show that Cody had torn his pectoral muscle.

WWE announced that Rhodes partially tore his pec during a brawl with Rollins on Raw this week, and then completely tore the muscle off the bone during a weights session a few days later.

BREAKING: @CodyRhodes suffered a partially torn right pectoral tendon during a brawl with @WWERollins this past Monday on #WWERaw. While weight training in preparation, the tendon tore completely off the bone. However, Rhodes has vowed to still step inside #HIAC tonight. pic.twitter.com/gpl2S8ilPI

Cody still competed in the match, to his credit, and he really was showing the physical effects from his injury.

As can be seen from the embedded tweet, Cody’s chest was completely purple, earning a noticeable gasp from the crowd when he took his jacket off just before the match.

His chest looks utterly gruesome, as you can see below, and highlights just how injured the top WWE Superstar is right now.

Cody is expected to take some time away from WWE TV in the weeks following Hell in a Cell to fully recover.

Considering how bad his chest looks tonight, and how limited his range of motion has been during the match, it’s unlikely that Cody is going to be back anytime soon.

Do make sure you stay tuned to GiveMeSport over the coming days and weeks for more updates on Cody’s situation and recovery from injury.
