Cody Rhodes injury: Strange reason WWE star was allowed to wrestle at Hell in a Cell
Cody Rhodes wrestled at WWE Hell in a Cell against Seth Rollins despite his right pectoral muscle being completely torn off the bone.
Many fans were left shocked by the fact Cody was even able to wrestle the match considering how serious the injury is.
And now the reason why Cody was able to step into the ring has emerged, and it’s pretty surprising.
WrestlingNews.co is reporting that Rhodes was only able to wrestle because his injury was so bad. Weirdly enough, if the injury was less serious, he wouldn’t have been cleared.
The thinking was that because Cody had completely torn his pec, he couldn’t actually do any more damage.
Since it was a complete tear, there was no more damage that could have been done to his pec
The report notes that WWE gave Cody the option to pull out of the match if he wanted to, but the Raw star insisted on wrestling.
In fact, Cody said as much in an emotional promo after the show for the fans in attendance, which you can check out by clicking here.
Cody appeared on Raw last night, cutting an emotional promo before being blindsided by Seth Rollins, who had just shaken his hand as a sign of respect.
During the promo, it was revealed by commentary that Cody will undergo surgery this week, but he seemingly hinted that he may be able to make Money in the Bank next month.
The show is just four weeks ago, and considering the majority of pec tears taken between four and six months to heal, it seems highly unlikely Cody will make the show.
