WWE Hall of Fame: New names rumoured to be joining class of 2022

Another name has been added to the rumoured Superstars set to be inducted into this year’s WWE Hall of Fame.

So far WWE have announced that The Undertaker and Vader will be part of the Hall of Fame class of 2022, with Sid heavily rumoured to be next in line to join them. Now reports suggest that set to be added to that list is legendary tag team The Steiner Brothers. 

Speaking on the latest Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, David Meltzer outlined that WWE are looking to induct both Rick and Scott Steiner during the ceremony, which takes place Friday 1 April following SmackDown. 

I’ve heard Rick Steiner or The Steiner Brothers, depending on Scott. I think if Scott is not willing, they’ll go with Rick. But they want The Steiner Brothers so that’s a name that’s floating around. Sid is the other name that’s floating around.

The Steiner Brothers made their WWE debut in December 1992, following a successful stint in WCW where they became one the most popular tag teams in the industry. During their two-year stint in WWE, they were capture the Tag Team Championships twice, and feud with the likes of The Headshrinkers, The Heavenly Bodies and Money Inc.

The returned to WCW in 1996 and would eventually rack-up seven WCW Tag Team title win before each going on singles runs, where Scott would go on to become a world champion in the company. Scott would have a further run with WWE between 2002 and 2004 and has been quoted in the past in saying he has no desire to be part of the Hall of Fame. 

Rick on the other hand was recently seen on NXT 2.0 as part of the celebrations of when his son Bron Breakker became NXT Champion. And you’d imagine Breakker would be high on the list of possible candidates to induct the pair if the Steiner’s
