WWE: Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has discussed shock new role with higher-ups

Dwayne ‘The Rock‘ Johnson has discussed becoming a WWE Executive, the megastar has now claimed.

The Rock is one of WWE’s biggest-ever stars, but he hasn’t worked full-time with the company since leaving for Hollywood in 2004.

That could be about to change, with The Rock revealing that he’s discussed a rather interesting new role with the company’s higher-ups.

The Rock recently revealed that he has discussed becoming one of WWE's Execuitve with one of the company's most influential people.

Speaking with Bloomberg, the former World Champion said that he'd discussed having a seat on WWE's board with Nick Khan, one of the company's CEOs, via WrestleTalk.

Nick and I have talked about that, and we always enjoy that over a bottle of Teremana. I love the wrestling business. I grew up in it. My grandfather and dad started here in Canada, where he was born. I’m not quite too sure if a board seat is in my future, but possibly other things are in my future.

It's worth noting that The Rock, as you can see above, did note that he's not sure that he'd ever become part of WWE's board, but did say that other things within WWE could be part of his future.

While a director's role may not be in his future, The Rock could be stepping back into the ring for WWE before too long.

The Rock is rumoured to be returning to the ring for the first time since 2016 at WrestleMania 39 in April 2023 for a big match with his cousin, Roman Reigns.

The Wrestling Observer notes that the plan is 100%, at least as of the time of writing, for The Rock to come back and feud with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion next year.
