Wrexham AFC star Aaron Hayden loving the quiet life in small North Wales town

Wrexham AFC defender Aaron Hayden has revealed he is thoroughly enjoying the "peace and quiet" of living with his young family in a small North Wales town.

The Dragons centre back, who hails from Croydon in south London but now lives in the small Denbighshire market town of Ruthin, told North Wales Live that living in such a beautiful and tranquil area has been beneficial for him and his career.

The 25-year-old is enjoying a successful first season at the Racecourse Ground after his summer move from Carlisle United and Hayden has impressed Dragons fans with a string of impressive performances as Wrexham continue to strive for promotion back into the Football League.

Hayden is clearly relishing the quiet life in the countryside and the big defender said it is something which has helped him to produce some of the impressive performances which Dragons fans have come to expect from him.

He said: "I love it to be honest. I've never lived in a place like Ruthin before so it's quite unique for me but I think it's really beneficial for me and my career living in peace and quiet and somewhere relaxing.

"I can finish playing football, come home and relax and recharge my batteries.

"I love it here, it's really nice. I've got a young daughter so it's lovely for her and we can go on nice walks and enjoy the countryside."

Ahead of Wrexham's game away at Wealdstone on Saturday, Hayden revealed that although the Reds are currently 12 points behind leaders Stockport County (albeit with two games in hand) he is expecting his side to be right up there come the end of the season.
