WrestleMania 39: Eight matches we’d like to see next year, including The Rock vs Roman Reigns

The dust has settled on what definitely was the most stupendous WrestleMania of all time. 

While Roman Reigns stands tall at the top of WWE having become the Undisputed champion, thoughts begin to stir on what will happen at next year’s WrestleMania. 

It was confirmed over the weekend that WrestleMania 39 will again be a two-night event and take place from the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles as WrestleMania goes Hollywood. 

While nothing is set for LA and with a full twelve months of WWE TV ahead us where anything could happen, GiveMeSport looks ahead at the matches we’d like to see happen at WrestleMania 39. 

Roman Reigns vs. The Rock 

The obvious one. The theme to WrestleMania 39 is Hollywood and there’s no bigger star in Hollywood right now than Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. It’s a match WWE are desperate to book because it works on so many levels. Not only do you get to cash-in on the most famous and biggest paid movie star on the planet, but you get the added bonus of the family ties to WWE’s biggest star – and new Undisputed Champion – Roman Reigns. The cousin vs. cousin match is the biggest bout WWE can book and would propel Reigns into superstardom, while being the fitting finale to The Great One’s in-ring career. Does it need the championship involved? In theory no, but it’s hard to see anyone beating Roman beforehand, which means Reigns’ title reign could still be going strong in twelve month’s time. 

Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey 

Most fans were expecting to see this bout in Dallas this weekend, but it’s hard to see WWE waiting any longer for a what is the biggest possible match in the women’s division. Rousey’s loss to Charlotte on Saturday means there’s still gas in the tank between those two and while she’s on a
