WrestleMania 38: Bianca Belair says she couldn't have asked for a better night

Bianca Belair is the new Raw Women’s Champion after defeating Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 38.

It’s the second successive year that The EST of WWE has walked out of WrestleMania as champion, once again starring in one the matches of the night. The 32-year-old defeated Becky Lynch by way of a KOD to win his first Raw Women’s Championship and finally gain revenge on Big Time Becks after he SummerSlam squash last summer.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani of BT Sport, Belair commented on her WrestleMania 38 win and says she couldn’t ask for it to gone any better.

“Last year, I walked into WrestleMania as a rookie and I was there to prove myself against Sasha Banks. This year, it was more personal. This has been going on since August at SummerSlam when Becky Lynch took the title from me in 26 seconds. She’s been doing everything she can to keep me away from this because she knew that when we finally threw down, I was going to come out on top. This one was more about redemption and more personal. This was my first time being in front of a full crowd at WrestleMania, the most people I’ve ever performed in front of and it was the fans that have been riding with me since SummerSlam. To be able to hold this title up and celebrate with the fans, I couldn’t ask for a better night.”

During the bout Belair suffered an injury to he left eye following a boot to the face as Lych came off the top rope with a rolling kick. The move left Bianca with a swollen eye, but she says there’s no major damage.
