Already, residents across Manchester have shared their concern about entering the housing market, while current homeowners have expressed their worries at rising monthly mortgage payments.

Last week also saw a reduction in the amount of different mortgages available to buyers, with lenders pulling a large number of products.

As of last Thursday (September 29), 1,621 mortgage deals had disappeared from the market with hikes of more than six percent predicted for interest rates in the first half 2023.
