"This government is a joke": Should there be a general election?

It's been another chaotic week in UK politics, with the latest developments seeing the resignation of Kwasi Kwarteng as Chancellor of the Exchequer and more u-turns over the mini-budget.

On Friday, Prime Minister Liz Truss held a press conference to confirm the resignation of Kwarteng with Jeremy Hunt set to take the position, while a reversal of the planned policy to scrap the rise in corporation tax was also announced.

With pressure piling up even further on Truss and the government, we want to know if you think there should be a general election.

Let us know your thoughts in our comments section.

Truss affirmed that she is not planning to resign, and said at her press conference: "It is clear that parts of our mini-budget went further and faster than markets were expecting so the way we are delivering our mission right now has to change."

Some readers have already reacted with frustration at the government's actions, with one person responding: "This government is a joke for all tax payers."

Another person reacted to the situation saying: "That's another few labour votes then - worst set of 'leaders' ever."
